Task Management Tuesday: Week 1

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
- Albert Einstein

I am stuck in a rut. I have these "systems" set up to run my household from either before I had kids or when I only had one, (now there are two) and they just don't work for me anymore. Yet, I continue to bang my head against the wall trying to get things done in the same way that I was used to. I can't break free from my own head.

This has to stop.

I will share with you what I have been doing, because each of us has a different life story and what I used to do might work for you. And if I can help someone else keep an orderly house, by all means, I would love to do it!

Each Tuesday I will share what I am doing differently with some new systems in place and whether or not they are working. Please share with me what you do that works. I would love to get some new ideas. I need ideas on keeping a clean home, spending more quality time with the kids, and finding time for myself and my marriage.

Because, as we all know, you can't be a good wife or mother if you don't take time for yourself to recharge your spirits. And, I truly believe it is a gift for our children to see a happy, loving relationship between mom and dad. (Someday the kids WILL be out on their own and it will just be the two of us. I don't want to feel like we put so much into our kids above all else and nothing into ourselves that we don't really know or love each other anymore.)

My oldest is starting preschool this week and I thought it was a perfect time to re-evaluate our schedules and routines. A new school year has always felt to me like a brand new year - a fresh start!

And, of course, I will continue to post the various craft projects I am working on as I get them completed.
